Furniture made from a recycled pallet
This is a short post, just to show you some little stools and table made entirely out of discarded wood, including an old pallet found on the street.
Recycled pallets are quite often used in upcycled projects to create all different kinds of furniture and other items. We had a small corner in our flat where we wanted to put some small chairs or stools, so we decided to make something out a pallet and a wooden shoe rack we found on the street.
Unfortunately, I didn’t take any photos of the actual creating. I will also admit that I didn’t actually make this one myself – I was lucky enough to have a ‘house carpenter’ at the time to do all the hard work. But here are a few sketches to give you the general idea.
The shoe rack was cut rougly into thirds, two of which were re-assembled into two square stools using various scraps to complete and strengthen the legs.
The pallet was cut into a square to make a kind of low coffee table.
Here are some photos of the finished product. Pretty simple, but great for drinking a glass or two of beer, and watching the world go by.
