Poppy and Pierre in Paris, a bilingual children’s book
Poppy and Pierre in Paris is a bilingual children’s book about Paris. The book was written, illustrated and edited by Rose, in 2010.
The entire story is written in both French and English. It includes lots of new vocabulary for children to learn. You will also find many beautiful illustrations of some of the key monuments of Paris. You can buy the book on the Paris en Rose etsy shop.

The whole story is bilingual and is told in both French and English. Certain words are highlighted in both languages to help learn and compare the two languages. Key vocabulary is also included, and associated with images to help children learn the new words easily.
The story is about an English girl Poppy, who comes to visit her cousin Pierre in Paris. Pierre takes Poppy on a tour of Paris in search of her aunt. During their adventures, the children discover many of the important monuments of Paris. They are finally reunited at the Eiffel tower.
The monuments included in the book are:
- The Gare du Nord and the Eurostar between England and France.
- Notre Dame Cathedral, and a beautiful view of all of Paris.
- The Louvre.
- The Pomidou centre.
- Les Invalides.
- Champs Elysées and the place de la Concorde.
- Opéra.
- Montmartre, the Sacré Coeur and the Moulin Rouge.
- The Montparnasse tower and railway station.
- And, of course, the Eiffel tower.
